Eucharistoumen is a collection of service music for liturgical Christian worship, featuring contemporary translations and music in a variety of styles. Eucharistoumen is Greek for “we give thanks,” and refers to the Great Thanksgiving, the eucharist.
Volume 2 is a jazz setting, to be accompanied by piano or jazz combo. Including: 1. Kyrie as a jazz ballad with Greek text; 2. Gloria in medium swing with inclusive language; 3. Apostles Creed in a driving, even-eighth gospel-jazz style with ecumenical translation from ELLC; 4. Sung Intersessions in a jazz ballad style; 5. Doxology with three trinitarian verses that can be used individually or together; 6. Great Thanksgiving in a 12/8 ballad style; 7. Lord’s Prayer as a lush ballad with ecumenical translation from he ELLC; 8. Agnus Dei with a slow but insistent even-eighth beat; and 9. Benediction with text from 2 Corinthians 13:14.
